As further proof that MotorWorld Acura is the preeminent Acura dealership Barre, PA drivers trust for all their automotive needs, we welcome any and all tire-related inquiries and service needs.  Whether you’re piloting an Acura sedan or SUV, your tires are critical to optimum performance.  Treat your tires right and you’ll enjoy the top-shelf handling, steering, fuel economy, and stability your Acura automobile was designed for.  Neglect you tires and, well, you might be in for a rough ride.

Here are two numbers to keep in mind: 7,000 and 42,000.  The first number pertains to tire rotation, and it’s actually more of a 6,000 – 8,000 range.  Somewhere within those two numbers you should plan to bring your Acura ride to our dealership and have your tires rotated.  It’s a simple procedure, and it’s one that some drivers take for granted, but it’s a big help for your tires.  Rotating them ensures that they wear evenly over their lifetime, as opposed to wearing out in one specific spot.

42,000 is the target mileage for new tires.  You could turn this number into a range too, as it will fluctuate depending on the type of tires you have, the road conditions you most commonly encounter, how you drive, etc.  But 42,000 is usually when tires will wear out to the point that you’ll need new ones.  Actually, right around this mileage mark you could employ a simple evaluation called the penny test.  Take a penny and stick it upside-down between two of the most-worn tread ridges.  If any part of Abe Lincoln’s head is covered by tread, you have enough to keep going.  But if you can see his entire head, it’s time for new tires.
